Train rides | Southport Model Engineering Club
Public train rides are available most Sundays on the Club's one-third of a mile long track.
Victoria Halt is situated opposite the children's playground at the south end of Victoria Park (see also the Find us page).
Rides are normally available from about 11.30 to 4.30, although we cannot guarantee running on any particular day.
Trains are pulled by miniature coal-fired steam engines or by battery-powered diesel outline engines.
The locos are owned by club members, many of whom have built their own engines.
There is no charge for a ride but we welcome donations.
All donations go to the maintenance of the track and the costs of its operation.
The club's 100ft portable track is a favourite attraction at many local fetes and shows.
For further information on the portable track please contact us.
Please note that we do not normally operate beyond a 20 mile radius of Southport.
